As a Research Assistant for the Flight to Freedom project with the National Park Service, I was responsible for analyzing various certificates of freedom in Maryland. By examining these documents, I was not only to identify physical characteristics of each newly emancipated person but to also create a broader picture of Maryland’s cultural landscape of slavery during Harriet Tubman’s participation in the Underground Railroad.

My responsibilities included greeting the customers and accessing their formal-wear needs. I would then measure or "size" the customers then choose the according to their measurements. Together, we would choose the style of tuxedo and color vest. I also was responsible for the final fittings, in which the customer would try on the tuxedo they choose and I would mark for alteration. At all times, I was expected to be knowledgeable, attentive, and energetic.

I am currently an intern at the City of Atlanta's Watershed department. My duties include creating work orders, answering phone calls that are elevated from the 311 information center and check walk in customers who need to establish new water service with the City of Atlanta.

I am a recent graduate of History with a minor in Communication. During my time as an undergraduate history major and communication minor, I became interested in Latin American history with a specific focus in African Diaspora women during the 17th and 18th centuries.
