This position performs advanced advocate duties which include representing CIGNA Behavioral Health (CBH), performing intake with patients and opening new case files, assisting participants with requests for services, assisting participants with presenting issues, connecting participants with providers in their area that fit their needs, write authorizations to insure claims are processed correctly, support care managers in the handeling of crisis calls and meet quality indicators of 90% or greater each month.

As a Wellness Coach I provide telephonic coaching for clients contemplating lifestyle change. Partnering with participants and co-managing programs, we establish personal wellness plans focusing on stress management and achieving a healthy lifestyle. During a call, I listen to the clients needs and work with them to develop and document a realistic and evidence based wellness plan that will help them meet their wellness goals. By personalizing my approach to the program I help members activate outcomes progression.

In my private psychotherapy practice I offer individual, couples and family therapy in addition to wellness coaching and consulting. My training and who I am is heavily influenced by the GLBTQQ community. My practice is open and affirming to any identity or relationship however defined, and I am dedicated to GLBTQQ equality and inclusion. I offer clinical expertise in working with transgender adult clients, MTF, throughout their transition.  Provided mental health and chemical dependency treatment to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender adults in a dual diagnosis inpatient treatment facility by affording individual, couple, and family therapy to clients in conjunction with running two hours of group therapy a week.  Made counseling, mediation and problem solving available from a family systems perspective for clinical issues related to chemical dependency, trauma, sexual compulsions, abuse, mood disorders, anxiety, grief/loss, life transition, sexuality, domestic violence, divorce and blended family issues.  Helped develop treatment plans for various populations within a range of social contexts, learned to assess clients mental health, chemical dependency and behavioral needs, worked with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, coordinated social service networks and collaborated with other health service professionals to ensure aftercare plans were in place and procedural guidelines were adhered to.

 Have developed expertise in the service industry due to my ability to easily grasp and put into application new ideas, menu items, evolving products, and customer service skills. Serve as a product expert on sophisticated foods, wines, and liqueurs while keeping up to date on emergent flavor profiles, product packaging and new items.  Asked to help hire new employees and was recognized by management for cultivating a long term stable staff with team player philosophies.  Coordinated low risk reviews of applications for medical and social research by processing applications, sending them out to designated committees, writing out stipulations and corresponding with applicants via phone, email, and the postal service.  Utilized a personal computer and became proficient in the use of various applications which enabled me to create internal and external correspondences relating to stipulations, letter writing, scheduling, policy changes needing to be made and ensuring that any applications having been submitted and issued were taken care of properly.  Strengthened my exceptional organization, leadership, analytical, oral and written communication skills by working both independent and collaboratively.
