NOTEWORTHY RECOGNITIONS 1. University Gold medal in 1959 for standing the topper in the Masters' Final Examination by the Utkal University of Odisha State. 2. A co-author of the very first U.N. Classification of Mineral Reserves and Resources in 1977. 3. The degree of "Doctor in Philosophy Geology)" from Utkal University, Odisha State, in 1979 on Exploration Approach and Applications in Fe-Mn Ores of Sandur, Karnataka. 4. The Society of Geoscientists & Allied Technologists, Bhubaneswar; Award in 1997 for 'Conceptual Strategy and Application in Mineral Exploration' ; Base metal Ore Deposits. 5. The International Man of the Year Award from Cambridge, U.K. in 1900-2000 for specialised dedication and advanced applications in Mineral Exploration. 6. The First Geological Society of India, Bangalore; Award in 1982 for 'Valuable knowledge addition to the Science of Economic Geology' both for Theoretical and Applied contributions. 7. "Lifetime Achievement Award" from South Asian Society of Economic Geologists in March 2011.
