About
With close to two decades of experience in the field of data science / AI, I currently lead the Quantitative Analytics and Data science practice for PETCO Trading at Petronas Group. Earlier, I have played the role of Chief Data Scientist for Petronas group, leading the Data Science / AI practice for 8 years. My mission is to drive transformative AI practices that deliver tangible value across the organization. My aim is to continue embedding human knowledge and expertise into AI solutions to augment AI’s reach and utility in physical industries. With my proven expertise in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics, fortified by my PhD, I would like to continue developing cutting-edge AI solutions that bridge the knowledge divide between humans and machines, with synergy and efficiency. I firmly believe in harnessing diverse perspectives and leverage our collective expertise to deliver the organization’s mission and contribute in building the culture. At Petronas, my current role encompasses building a strong value pipeline, scale business-wide AI/Data science solutions and embed AI/Data science in the trading practice. In my previous role with Petronas group, by working closely with business units, I've had the opportunity to identify key opportunities and develop impactful solutions across multiple business and corporate verticals. The successful, industry-leading Citizen Analytics initiative, designed and delivered by my team, had upskilled thousands of employees in analytics and machine learning and is poised to deliver value at every nook and corner of the organisation. My tenure at Tata Steel as Head of Analytics and Digital Value Acceleration laid a strong foundation to accelerate the impact of AI in the organisation. With such pivotal roles in delivering large transformation programs that enhanced business value through technological innovation and AI, it has been a fulfilling journey so far. I am an avid learner. My interests include Tamil classical literature, music, movies, wildlife, travel, astronomy and photography.

(ii) Advanced analytics - Develop, deliver and implement data science projects related to process optimisation, Supply Chain, process safety and productivity, using Optimisation techniques, machine learning, system simulation and statistical techniques. (iii) Data Visualisation - Real time process data analysis to help in trouble-shooting, productivity and quality improvements.

Education

Fluid Mechanics
Done under the guidance of Prof. Franz Durst Though the classical Navier-Stokes equations are considered to be complete, there are problems, of practical importance, such as gas flows through microchannels, shock-waves, Thermophoresis etc., which need special treatments. In this work, it has been shown that it is important to consider self-diffusion mass transport and the associated momentum and energy transports in the governing equations to obtain good predictions to the above mentioned flows. The resulting equations are called the ‘Extended Navier-Stokes equations’ and the path-breaking results obtained with these equations have pointed out the lacunae in the current understanding of flow physics of these problems.
