Ascending rapidly my first few months from Blue Dot work and Repair, I was for seven months Inspector 5 on the paint line. As the company-wide motto, I was responsible for "the production and fabrication of quality car parts." Such responsibilities I had were checking to make sure the car parts coming down the line were within an acceptable color range. In addition, it was my job to make sure the paint was even and did not have any blemishes or defects.

Kaskaskia College provided many courses in general studies and I was also able to pursue an interest in graphic design by entering the art program there. It wasn't the greatest, a studio annexed to the mechanic's garage, but I judged the classes for their teacher and by that quality it was certainly great. The experience that led me to an Associates of Arts degree taught me much of the physical arts such as oil painting and charcoal drawing."]
