QinShan (Shan) Y.
Vice President, Research and Development @ GOWell
About
With over 20 years of solid research and product development experience in the oil and gas industry, I am a Director of Research Technology at GOWell, a global leader in well logging and well integrity solutions. In my current role, I define, plan, and lead research projects for new technologies, products, and their iterations, exploring various areas of technology for opportunities in the current market and gaining competitive advantages. I also contribute to the intellectual property portfolio, with multiple patents. As a Senior Advisor at GOWell for over five years, I led and advised in the fields of borehole geophysics, integrated reservoir description, and unconventional reservoir composition analysis, applying my hands-on experience in Bayesian statistic, machine learning, non-linear optimization, uncertainty analysis, joint inversion, Markov-chain Monte Carlo, large field data processing, and DTS/DAS interpretation. I am passionate about advancing the scientific knowledge and innovation in the oil and gas industry, and I have participated in the NSF I-corp program at the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago. My mission is to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cutting-edge solutions that meet the needs and challenges of our customers and stakeholders.
