About
🧠 I’m an engineering leader with 15+ years in software development and product delivery. 🚀 I build and scale systems across backend, web, and mobile — from the first prototype to production. I’m a hands-on engineer with deep experience in architecture design, backend development, and launching both cross-platform and native mobile products. I understand distributed systems, infrastructure, and delivery automation end-to-end. 🔧 I lead engineering teams through the full product cycle — from shaping vision and architecture to release and stable operation. I design processes for incident management, deployments, releases, and configuration changes to keep delivery smooth and predictable. 👥 I build strong teams and an engineering culture based on clarity, accountability, and fast iteration. 🎤 I share my experience at conferences and run a Telegram channel for engineering managers and tech leads — t.me/tobelead

Citydrive is the second-largest car-sharing service in Russia by revenue with 1mln MAU, generating RUB 20 billion ($250 million) annually with 30% YoY growth and over 1,000 employees across the company. As CTO, I led all technology domains — from software and infrastructure to reliability and delivery — building a scalable foundation that fueled rapid and sustainable growth. Achievements: — Scaled the engineering team from 30 to 150, creating an organization capable of powering fast business expansion — launching new verticals (long-term rentals, fleet management, B2B) and evolving car sharing into a unified mobility platform. — Introduced robust incident and release management, cutting GMV losses from 1.5% to 0.02% per month. Improved reliability became a growth driver — reducing churn, attracting new users, and moving the company from third to second place in the market. — Deployed Kubernetes across all production, staging, and development environments, and launched the migration from Node.js to Golang — with 60% of the codebase already running on Go, improving system performance and reliability. — Led a three-year technology roadmap to shift from a monolith to microservices, aligning architecture with business scale and velocity. Reduced monolith traffic by 40%, expanded microservices from 20 to 200, and secured shareholder approval for the long-term vision. — Designed and led the infrastructure budgeting strategy, defending and securing approvals from the CEO and shareholders; achieved 30% annual business growth with only a 20% increase in infrastructure costs through a self-developed optimization approach. Tech stack: Node.js / TypeScript, Go, Python, Kubernetes, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL.

Citymobil is the second-largest ride-hailing platform in Russia, serving over 2 million monthly active users. During my nearly 3 years at Citymobil, I grew from leading a small VK Taxi team of 10 engineers (front-end, back-end, QA) to heading the Mobile App Development department with over 60 engineers (iOS, Android, back-end, QA). I was responsible for introducing front-end development, establishing engineering practices, and building a strong tech culture across teams. Achievements: — Launched the VK Taxi product inside the VK Super App (via VK Mini Apps): built a 10-person team and scaled it to 100K daily rides, accounting for 25% of all company orders. — Built the frontend function from scratch: hired 20+ engineers, formed 4 cross-functional teams, implemented CI/CD, testing, release processes, a UI Kit, and a competency matrix. Within 1.5 years, the teams delivered major products — an admin panel, new main website, taxi order widget, B2B portal, and geo editor (tool for managing geolocation data). — Reorganized the mobile app development department: established 7 cross-functional teams and unified the development and task estimation process. Under my leadership, the team launched a new main screen of the app and integrated scooters (Urent) and car sharing (Citydrive) directly into the app. — Defined the target backend architecture and roadmap to extract business logic from the monolith; built the team, processes, and development standards for future services. Tech stack: PHP, Python, Go, ReactJS / TypeScript, MySQL, RabbitMQ, ClickHouse.

Brand Analytics — a platform for monitoring and analyzing brand mentions across social media and online media. I was responsible for delivering an internal project called Noosphere. The idea of the project was to collect news, events, and trends from across the internet, analyze them, and use this data to forecast the dynamics of currencies, stocks, and precious metals. I designed and built the entire system from the ground up. The solution included a real-time data clustering algorithm and a pipeline architecture based on RabbitMQ, MongoDB, and ClickHouse. The system processed over 10K events per second. Tech stack: PHP, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, ClickHouse.

FoodMate was a project created by Mail.ru Group as a food delivery aggregator, similar to Delivery Club, which at that time was owned by Foodpanda. I joined the team as an engineering manager and, within four months, designed and built the entire backend architecture from scratch. I led a team of five engineers, managed the technology roadmap, and ensured the successful delivery of the project. Mail.ru Group later acquired Delivery Club from Foodpanda and merged the FoodMate team into Delivery Club. In this structure, I continued to lead the team and work on core platform services. One of my key contributions was the service for storing and processing food photos for restaurants — I designed its architecture and developed the full solution. Later, I moved with part of the FoodMate team to the Foodfox project — another food delivery aggregator focused on express delivery. There, I led a team of four backend engineers and worked on a new product called Vendor. It was a mobile application for restaurants that allowed them to receive customer orders, manage these orders in real time, and update their menus and available items. I fully designed the backend architecture of this service, was responsible for its launch and development, and wrote the core of the system myself. Other engineers continued building new features and expanding the product around this core. Foodfox was later acquired by Yandex and became the foundation of Yandex.Eats. After that, Yandex also acquired Delivery Club, merging these services into a single food delivery platform in Russia. Tech stack: PHP / Symfony, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ.

As a Senior Software Engineer, I supported and improved the main service built with Symfony, as well as several internal company projects, some of which were based on the Slim Framework. For the analytics team, I built an internal reporting system that helped visualize key metrics such as traffic conversion, user behavior, and churn. The system processed and aggregated millions of data rows, provided fast responses, and allowed analysts to create interactive dashboards. Tech stack: PHP, Symfony, MySQL, Sphinx, Memcached, RabbitMQ.
