Synnovis is the UK's leading laboratory company. A joint venture between Guys & St Thomas', Kings College Hospital and Synlab, Synnovis has been leading provision to both the NHS and private sector for a wide range of pathology, haematology and other diagnostic services.

NEOM is creating a new model for living, and as part of that I am helping to redefine what healthcare should be. We are switching the system on its head - incentivising for wellbeing, not paying for disease. And making it hyper-personalised through multi-omic screening. Taking in to account all the determinants of health - social, financial, genetic. And using data and AI at the top of its game. I was responsible for helping to create a culture of wellness, build a world-leading multi-omics function, build a digital ecosystem of solutions that keep people at their healthiest and work with the NEOM investment fund to find the very best healthcare companies to invest in and partner with.

Chief Executive Officer of Simplyhealth, a 150-year-old, purpose-driven UK healthcare company. With revenues of circa £250 million and a workforce of almost 1000 people, the company is a force for good, and is on a transformation journey to bring the very best in health care to the citizens of the UK. During my tenure, I spearheaded a turn around of the company, leading to significant revenue growth and a return to profitability. We ran a programme of deep cultural change to focus the company on commerciality and innovation, established a new target operating model, reduced operating costs, implemented a £20m new IT platform, and moved into an OKR-defined, product led, agile organisation. We also established a £60M captive Venture Capital Fund, investing in the best in medical technology; and we established Simplyhealth Foundry to acquire or seed start-ups/scale-ups to diversify Simplyhealth for the future. Furthermore our new ESG strategy allowed us to be the first health insurer in the UK to become B-Corp accredited.

I ran the Population Health and vHealth (Digital Primary Care) businesses for CVS/Aetna International. In this capacity, I set up & operated fast growing, multi-million dollar health services businesses in Qatar, India, South Korea, Dubai, Thailand and Europe. These businesses range from large-scale programmes to set up National Health Systems, perform deep data analytics and run remote care programmes. More recently, I have concentrated on Digital Health and building ecosystems of Primary Care in emerging markets.

Resident doctor for Global Radio, I held a weekly call in medical show for London's largest non-music station, LBC 97.3 FM on Tuesday evenings at 9pm. Getting a listener base of almost 2 million people, we answered listener's calls on any medical topic.

Non-executive director of Joint Commission Resources (JCR). Based in Chicago, USA, this company encompasses the Joint Commission International, which is the leading global hospital accreditation enterprise. I additionally served on the accreditation and compensation sub-committees, and my involvement with the organisation was to help drive better quality care and outcomes for patients around the world.

Advanced Oncotherapy is a successful spin-off company from CERN, home of the Large Hadron Collider, in Geneva. The company develops and promotes new technologies in cancer radiotherapy, notably proton therapy, to bring patients the newest technologies at lower costs. As Interim COO, I was responsible for helping the company move from start-up phase into a fully operational business, with a sales pipleline and portfolio of products.

My role was responsible for harnessing innovation and new business development in healthcare for Bupa Group. This involved both assessing and incorporating new health services, as well as leading clinical due diligence for M&A. I also led a large health data/informatics project spanning Bupa's international businesses to prove delivery on our purpose - ie that we help people lead longer, healthier and happier lives. My responsibilities were global, and I was involved in key projects in the UK, Europe, India, Saudi Arabia and Asia.

For this interim period, I was Chief Medical Officer for Bupa Group. This is a board level position, with global responsibility. Areas of work include both operational and strategic elements, especially (some via line management): • Integrated quality governance (especially clinical and data) • Digital health and health information • Health Technology Assessment/Horizon Scanning • Clinical data architecture • Chief medical spokesperson/media representative

As Medical Director, I had a strong operational focus which not only covered traditional medical director responsibilities (governance and quality), but managed underwriting, risk and assistance teams. I was responsible for bringing in significant service enhancements that provided value to customers and decreased our cost base. In summary: • Member of Management Executive Team • Director of large team structure, including clinical experts and general management staff • Primary responsible for Underwriting, Clinical Risk & Policy and Hospital Quality • Joint senior responsibility for P&L of >£300 million • Part of successful sales team (acquisition/retention of >230,000 lives) • Head of Sustainability

Working in the corporate headquarters, I was responsible for Clinical Governance, Medical Policy, and Health service innovations for the group companies.
