Political Head of the City of Lilongwe and functions include: Acting as the principal spokesperson for the Council. Supporting good working relations between Councillors - Carrying out the civic and ceremonial duties of the Office of the Mayor. - Recommend to the Council such measures and legislation as deemed necessary and to make such other recommendations to the Council concerning the affairs of the City. As Mayor, my role, extended well beyond officiating at council meetings or other council proceedings and includes providing leadership, promoting positive relationships, and modelling good governance.
