About
Professor Ross White is an award-winning clinical psychologist who specialises in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of adults working in high-performance environments, including elite-level athletes in rugby, football, athletics and tennis. He is the author of ‘The Tree That Bends: How a Flexible Mind can help you thrive’. He is also an expert in global mental health and has conducted research in collaborations with the World Health Organization and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees on interventions for reducing distress experienced by refugees in the aftermath of humanitarian crises. Ross is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at Queen's University Belfast, and is the founding director of Strive2Thrive, a clinical psychology training and consultancy organisation that helps individuals and organisations to thrive.

I direct the MSc Global Mental Health programme at the University of Glasgow that explores inequalities and inequities in mental health provision across the world. The programme educates students about how to design and deliver sustainable policies and services for mental health across the world. My research interests focus on the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to alleviate psychological distress, and initiatives aimed at promoting mental health and wellbeing in low resource settings.
