Priyana Puliyappara Babu, PhD

I am an experimental physicist specializing in condensed matter physics with hands-on expertise in nanofabrication and low-temperature transport measurements. I am skilled in thin-film deposition techniques including pulsed laser deposition (PLD), sputtering, and e-beam evaporation, as well as advanced material characterization methods such as XRD, AFM, SEM, and EDX spectroscopy. I have more than four years of experience working with cleanroom, UHV, and glovebox environments, with a strong focus on fabricating and studying superconducting devices and 2D materials. I have optimized micro- and nanofabrication protocols using FIB milling, plasma etching (ICP-RIE), and lithographic techniques, and performed cryogenic transport measurements using He-3 dilution refrigerator. I approach challenges with a practical mindset and adaptability, focusing on finding effective solutions and continuously improving processes. I’m motivated by contributing to impactful research and applying my skills to real-world problems.
