I worked mainly @Micro-Photonics laboratory, Department of ATDC which comprises both of experimental and theoretical work on optical waveguides(mainly SU-8) and their application in the field of integrated optics. Motivation: Optical integrated circuits analogous to electronic integration have many advantages over the latter technology. As information carriers are photons(bosons) in optical circuits rather than electrons(fermions), which maximizes the speed as well as due to minimum mutual interaction between photons, losses reduces as well the band-width becomes infinite. As Moore’s law can be realized as a limitation for the electronics industry by restricting the number of transistors used in an integrated circuit, Photonics circuits has a lot of potential to be explored and worked as a solution for current limitations of communication and information systems.
