She was a non-executive director at the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and serves on the Audit and Risk Committee at the Quality Council for Trades & Occupations (QCTO). She currently sits on the shared Audit Committee at Ehlanzeni District Municipality and the Audit and Risk Committee of WDB Trust. Her 23 years of experience managing large and complex financial portfolios has enabled her to add value to the Department of Higher Education and Training and the Department of Science and Technology, where she has both served as CFO. In her current position as the CFO at the DHET, she leads a team of 150 people and manages a budget of R 130 billion and oversees the financial compliance of 26 public entities under the Department. As the CFO at the DST from 2016 to 2021 she provided support to the Minister and Executive management on submitting proposals to the National Treasury for large infrastructure projects. She provided a strategic finance role on commercialisation of the R&D projects and developed finance strategies for the department as well as overseeing their implementation. Her key previous positions have included being Acting CFO at the Tshwane Economic Development Agency, Director: Financial Accounting at the Gauteng Department of Roads, and Transport and Head of Finance at the Urban Transport Fund. She has a proven unique ability to work with CEOs, board of directors, top executives and various stakeholders in the design and implementation of business, finance, governance, investment, and P&L strategies as well as the ability to execute through people.
