Focus of work: Platinum drug resistance Conducts independent research on drug resistance, in cancer cell lines, including assisting in the authoring and submission of publications Analysis of compounds and drugs, including in vitro and in vivo models, imaging and analysis of cytotoxic and resistance effects Trains new laboratory staff, including post-docs, graduate students and technicians, on biological lab practices including sterile technique, tissue culture, PCR, MS and ICP-OES, RT-PCR, cytotoxicity assays, transfection, mutagenesis and electrophoresis Designs, optimizes and troubleshoots protocols and assays, including MS and OES-based assays, as well as other instrument-driven techniques Acquires new cell lines from other institutions and established different cell lines, using transfection assays including viral, electroporation and Lipofectamine. Manages a large multifaceted laboratory to include maintenance and calibration and SOPs for machinery and equipment. Ensures that all EH&S,OSHA, Biosafety II, and IACUC(animal) safety and training rules and standards were implemented and kept current, including training and proficiency records for all researchers. Maintains and facilitates the radiation safety and usage program including the training of researchers and documentation and containment of radioactive materials Manages daily laboratory practices to include ordering of supplies and equipment, collection and removal of toxic, radioactive and biological waste, cleanliness and organization of lab areas and personnel. Organizes and maintains all laboratory libraries to include viral vector, plasmid, antibody, animal/human cell lines, and competent bacteria cell lines

Oversaw a lab that produces a wide array of primary cell types, optimized growth media (for human and animal cells), supporting cell culture reagents, RNA extraction and antibodies to serve cell-based research and development goals of educational and research facilities. Managed five lab personnel in daily operations including training, development and reviews. Isolated, cultured, and QC of primary cells from human and animal tissues. Reagent preparation, small animal surgeries, PCR, ELISA,FACS and MACS sorting, including use of anesthesia and wet chemistry. Western Blot to include gel electrophoresis, cell lysing and film development. Working knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile environment procedure. Consulted with customers and orchestrated daily operations to maintain project schedules for orders. Ensured lab and equipment maintenance, inventory upkeep, and authoring protocols. Supervised the handling, inventory and documentation of 100,000 Proficiency Exams. Coordinated and trained hundreds of educators to grade and process examinations. Compiled statistical data and ensured calibration and proper scoring techniques throughout the grading procedure to maintain accuracy and fairness.

Coordinated, maintained and operated millions of dollars worth of avionics systems on a MH-60G Pave Hawk for the 55th Special Operations Squadron. Completed operational and design knowledge of FLIR Systems, Stability Augmentation Systems, ring laser guided internal navigation systems and ALQ-144 infrared missile tracking systems.
