Prathiksha Prabhakara Alva, PhD

Currently, I’m working on a translational oncology project focused on understanding PIK3R1-driven mechanisms in metastatic prostate cancer (mCRPC). My work bridges cancer genomics, metabolic signaling, and AR-pathway biology to identify actionable targets in treatment-resistant cancers. With a PhD in Biological Sciences and over 7 years of research experience, I have a multidisciplinary background in molecular biology, microbiology, and bioinformatics, with strengths in target discovery, pathway analysis, and therapeutic screening. My PhD research led to the identification of novel quorum sensing inhibitors from natural sources, demonstrating my ability to translate scientific ideas into validated outcomes. Alongside research, I’ve led academic teaching and mentoring initiatives, building strong communication and leadership skills essential in collaborative R&D settings.
