Prasheel Suryawanshi

Prasheel Suryawanshi is the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, working with a mission to foster excellence in academics and research. He is a seasoned professional with 28+ years of experience in academics, research, consulting, industry, and institution building. He is educated at one of the oldest institutions in the country, the College of Engineering, Pune (now COEP Technological University) with top honors. He has served in academic and leadership positions at MIT Group Pune, Avantika University, Ujjain, and Vijaybhoomi University, Mumbai. He also has significant global exposure having visited 20+ universities in US and Europe. He is an ardent academic who has a natural flair for design-centered education, offers a fresh approach to engineering through project-based and problem-based learning, and has conceived the unique concept of Designeering. He has focused interest and experience in Systems and Control, Computing, Signal Processing, Mechatronics, and Cyber-Physical Systems. He has made significant contributions to robust control, by combining uncertainty estimation techniques with sliding-mode control and developing simultaneous state and disturbance observers for uncertain systems. He is passionate about research and has worked with BARC, DST, and AICTE on several research projects, with cumulative funding to the tune of INR 3 Crores. He has published 70+ research papers, 5 book chapters, 10 books and monographs, and 20+ technical reports and white papers, besides holding 5 IPRs in the form of design, copyright, and patent. He has also supervised 20+ industry projects sponsored by the likes of TATA Motors, Forbes Marshall, and DRDO, and has mentored 3 tech start-ups. Additionally, he has worked on 10+ consulting projects and has successfully delivered 5 professional projects in the domain of Systems and Control. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), a Member of the American Society for Engineering Education, and a Life Member of the Indian Nuclear Society, Systems Society of India, and Instrument Society of India. He also serves as a reviewer of some leading journals of IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier, and has delivered over 50 keynote and invited lectures. He is passionate about advancing the frontiers of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, AI, and Mathematics) and inspiring the next generation of engineers. The guiding thought of his life is, "DO NOT GO, WHERE THE PATH MAY LEAD, GO INSTEAD WHERE THERE IS NO PATH AND LEAVE A TRAIL”.
