I had the incredible opportunity to complete my internship at WCPM, where I gained hands-on experience in various departments of the paper manufacturing process. This diverse exposure enhanced my understanding of the entire production cycle and how each department contributes to the overall efficiency and quality of the output.

The project of rebuilt of Paper Machine 6 (PM6) at West Coast Paper Mills Limited (WCPM) after 2018 has been a significant undertaking aimed at enhancing production efficiency and product quality while also addressing environmental standards. - Changes in paper machine Configuration includes: 1. DuoShake was removed from the forming board earlier also it was not in the operation. 2. Duocleaner was installed on bottom felt and transfer belt to avoid fluff and fines issue. 3. Setup of additional vaccum box on wire part. 4. VTT conveyor belt was installed at S/F and M/R for easy and faster paper feeding. 5. SRB bearing was replaced by Carb Bearing but due to more vibration again SRB bearing was used. 6. Voith Scanner at base and reel showing abnormalities was replaced by ABB Scanner. 7. Extra Blower for supply and exhaust was installed to solve water dripping problem but it is yet to be resolved.

Completed rigorous training that included detailed study of the whole paper manufacturing process, from stock preparation to the complexities of operating and maintaining the Paper Machine 6. Highlights: - Gained extensive knowledge of paper production workflow, including best practices and operational efficiencies. - Developed expertise in managing the stock preparation process to ensure raw material quality and consistency. - Gained practical experience troubleshooting and optimizing the performance of Paper Machine 6 - Worked with cross-functional teams to improve workflows and maintain safety and quality standards. Eager to leverage this specialized training and knowledge in a dynamic role within the paper manufacturing industry, contributing to innovation and sustainability efforts

Paper Science professional, a B.Sc. in Pulp and Paper Science at Karnataka University, Dharwad. This program has provided a profound understanding of the entire paper manufacturing process, from raw material selection to finished product delivery. Academic Highlights: -Fundamentals of Pulping: Developed a strong foundation in the chemistry and technology of pulping processes. -Papermaking Techniques: Studied various papermaking techniques, such as sheet formation, pressing, drying, calendering,and reeling which are crucial in every paper mill. -Paper Properties: Gained knowledge about the physical and chemical properties of different fibers. - Additives and Coatings: Learned about various additives and coatings used to enhance paper performance, including fillers, sizing agents, and colorants. - Quality Control: Understood the importance of quality assurance and control methods in monitoring production processes and ensuring product standards.
