Apprenticeship Daily Diary – L&T Heavy Engineering (attached photos) During my apprenticeship at L&T Heavy Engineering, I maintained a daily diary documenting all tasks, learning experiences, and practical activities performed each day. This included welding, pressure vessel fabrication, fitting, blueprint interpretation, machine setup, and inspections. I also attached photos of my work to visually record the processes and outcomes, which helped me track progress, reflect on learning, and reinforce practical skills. This practice enhanced my ability to systematically record technical work, analyze improvements, and retain hands-on knowledge, contributing significantly to my growth as a skilled CNC operator, welder, and machinist. Read and interpreted blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise fabrication of pressure vessels and structural components. Performed welding operations using TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) processes for high-quality welds. Conducted weld bead inspections, penetration depth checks, and porosity analysis to ensure compliance with ASME and AWS welding standards. Carried out pressure vessel marking, alignment, and layout as per engineering drawings. Gained hands-on experience in fitting, cutting, and fabrication of mechanical components and pressure vessels. Gained practical experience in manual lathe and milling machine operations, basic arc welding, and bench work. Trained in blueprint reading, precision measurement using vernier caliper, micrometer, and steel rule, machine setup, and tool handling. Followed shop floor safety rules, 5S practices, and quality standards while working on individual and team-based practical projects
