✅ Roles & Responsibilities of an ATM Service Engineer 1. Installation & Setup Install and configure new ATMs at client or bank locations. Set up network connections and test functionality. Ensure compliance with security standards during setup. 2. Maintenance & Servicing Perform routine preventive maintenance on ATMs. Clean and calibrate hardware components. Monitor software and firmware updates. 3. Troubleshooting & Repairs Diagnose and repair hardware issues (e.g., card reader, cash dispenser, screen). Resolve software faults, connectivity problems, and error messages. Respond to service calls and ensure minimum downtime. 4. Cash Replenishment Support (if required by role) Assist in loading or securing cash in the ATM (in coordination with cash handling teams). Ensure accurate logging and safety during cash operations. 5. Customer & Technical Support Communicate with bank staff or clients to understand issues. Provide on-site or remote support depending on the problem. Train end-users or branch staff on ATM usage and basic troubleshooting. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain service logs and fault records. Report repeated failures or technical anomalies. Update ticketing systems or CRM tools used by the organization. 7. Compliance & Security Adhere to data security and privacy standards. Ensure the physical security of ATM components. Follow bank and OEM protocols during maintenance. 8. Travel & Field Work Travel frequently to various ATM sites within a designated area or region. Be on-call for emergency maintenance or downtime situations.
