Experience

R&D Engineering Lead
New York, New York, United States
• Designed, built, and tested neuromodulation therapy system for opiate-induced respiratory depression, including graphical user interface and hardware. Conducted animal trials and iterated on design in preparation for IDE submission. • Chosen as lead project manager for development of high-frequency ultrasound cardiac catheter to treat hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Led R&D and clinical teams through development and evidence generation strategies. Fabricated catheters and tested technical specifications. • Created adaptable test fixtures for UV curing of implantable regenerative therapy scaffolds for Parkinson's disease. Identified user needs and defined specifications. • Designed neuromodulation therapy system for obstructive sleep apnea clinical trials. Developed predictive stimulation triggering algorithm. • Strategized opportunities for innovation, identified white space, and gleaned clinical insights from KOLs in the liver cirrhosis space. Assisted in proposing unmet needs and solution concepts to investors.

Co-Founder
Baltimore, Maryland, United States
• Ideated and designed nerve stimulation prototypes for untreated form of sleep apnea affecting 9M Americans. Conducted IRB-approved animal and human studies for proof of concept and clinical efficacy. • Conducted 500+ hours of surgery rotations and contextual commercial analysis to capture user needs, defined system features, and managed requirements. • Developed business, regulatory, and reimbursement strategies. Patent pending.

Global Health Engineer
Visilant Eye Screening
Puducherry, India
• Designed eye-screening telemedicine app. Conducted 600-patient validation study. • Developed systems roadmap for 2nd Gen device with EMR dashboard and deep learning for automated screening. Designed 5 iterations for additional use cases. • Performed 150+ hours of ethnographic field research in eye camps, vision clinics, and local and government hospitals. Partnered with Aravind Eye Hospital.

Pratt Tissue Engineering Research Fellow
Durham, North Carolina, United States
• Manufactured tissue-engineered blood vessels (TEBVs) to compare mechanical properties of healthy and Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria cells. Tested TEBV stiffness using tensile force, atomic force microscopy, and burst pressure analysis. • Created color image processing program to automate diameter acquisition.

Design Health Engineering Lead
Durham, North Carolina, United States
• Designed mechanism to expedite ECMO circuit changeout by 80% via solution landscaping, concept refinement, and clinical & regulatory strategy. Patent pending. • Created rhythmic auditory device for dysarthria patients using transductive anemometer sensor and gamified user interface. Executed unit and V&V testing. • Redesigned AmbuBag for single-handed use via DFMA, FEA, and LBM analysis.

Clinical Research Intern
New York, New York, United States
• Developed literature review on gene therapy and alternative treatments for coronary disease. • Researched patient records and maintained secured patient databases. • Consented patients, then processed and stored tissue samples from the operating room.
