Peter MacMonegle
Outbound Manager @ Supply Chain Warehouses
About
My brain naturally maps systems in space and time. Whether I’m looking at a warehouse floor, a film set layout, or an international distribution network, I see how people, materials, timing, and movement need to fit together under pressure. That spatial systems thinking is what I bring to Creative Operations and Production Logistics. I’m a builder at heart. From Lego cities and map editors as a kid to designing outbound fulfillment departments and on-set audio workflows today, I get the most satisfaction from walking into messy, high-pressure environments, spotting hidden friction, and building calmer, clearer, more resilient systems. The best processes aren’t static. They evolve. The moment they stop adapting, they start dying. Across my career I’ve led high-volume warehouse and 3PL outbound operations, managed end-to-end international shipping (ocean, air, and over-the-road), and navigated real chaos like 2020 supply chain disruptions and a Nashville tornado that took out our facility’s power and connectivity. At the same time, I’ve worked as a production sound engineer and on-set audio professional - environments where one missed handoff or timing slip stops everything. The industries look different on paper, but the work feels the same: making complex creative and operational work actually land reliably. I design systems from the floor up. I’ve picked orders from cherry pickers, worked commercial kitchens, lifeguarded, mixed live audio, and built teams from scratch. That frontline experience keeps me grounded. I don’t believe in processes that only work on paper or demand perfect compliance. I build ones that expect real people, absorb normal human error, and still deliver under pressure. I’m especially drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of creative execution and operational scale: the places where structure and adaptability have to coexist. Where invisible is actually a sign that everything is working as designed. Outside of work I’m a husband and dad. That role has probably taught me more about real-time prioritization, adaptability, and keeping multiple systems running smoothly than anything else in my career.

Experience

Outbound Manager
Mount Juliet, TN
Promoted to design and lead a new outbound fulfillment department from the ground up to support a major national retail client’s full U.S. distribution network. I approached the role as a systems builder: designing the physical floor layout, fulfillment workflows, and scalable processes that could handle high-volume spikes while remaining adaptable to real-world variability. The goal was to create an operation that stayed calm and accurate even when conditions weren’t perfect. - Built end-to-end outbound operations, including optimized warehouse layout, workflow design, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) engineered to absorb volume surges and normal operational friction. - Led daily high-volume fulfillment and multi-modal shipping (FTL, LTL and Ecom), ensuring strict adherence to complex retailer routing guidelines while maintaining strong accuracy and on-time performance. - Served as the primary client point of contact: managing visibility, resolving bottlenecks in real time, and aligning on performance expectations during peak periods and changing demands. - Recruited, trained, and led the outbound team with a frontline-first mindset. Focused on building clarity, ownership, and a collaborative culture where team members understood why their role mattered in the larger system. This experience reinforced my belief that the strongest operations aren’t the most rigid. They’re the ones designed around real people executing under pressure.

Receiving Manager
Mount Juliet, TN
Led inbound receiving operations for a high-volume warehouse handling complex international freight. Focused on building reliable front-end processes that turned chaotic arrivals into clean, accurate inventory ready for outbound fulfillment. - Designed and optimized receiving workflows, including unloading, verification, cross-docking, and storage, ensuring physical product matched documentation with high accuracy before entering inventory. - Coordinated container pickups from rail yards and ports while aggressively managing Last Free Days, detention, and demurrage windows. This proactive approach significantly reduced unnecessary storage and penalty costs. - Served as the primary operational point of contact for clients during inventory audits and site visits, maintaining clear visibility and translating warehouse realities into actionable updates. - Led, trained, and developed the inbound team with a strong emphasis on safety, situational awareness, and practical processes that frontline operators could actually execute reliably under real-world pressure. This role reinforced my belief that the best inbound systems act as a strong foundation by absorbing variability at the point of entry so the rest of the operation can run smoother. Disclaimer: I began this role on payroll of a large client, though I was was onsite at SCW. I eventually transferred to SCW payroll.

Audio Engineer
Nashville, TN
Audio has been a constant thread in my life and career. What started as music performance and studio work has evolved into a deep focus on production sound for film, commercials, and media: capturing clean, usable audio in fast-moving, unpredictable environments. I treat on-set audio the same way I approach warehouse or shipping operations: as a system of timing, coordination, signal flow, and real-time problem solving. One missed handoff or technical failure can stop an entire production, so I focus on anticipation, clear communication, and building small redundancies that keep things moving even when conditions change. - Lead on-set production sound, including mixing, boom operation, wireless lavalier coordination, plant microphones, and location recording while working closely with camera, lighting, and directing teams. - Manage complex audio setups in real time: balancing technical quality, environmental challenges, actor movement, and tight production schedules without slowing the set. - Handle full post-production workflows: multi-track editing, mixing, EQ, compression, and mastering in professional DAWs, with strong emphasis on getting clean source audio rather than fixing problems later. - Bring operational discipline to creative environments by troubleshooting under pressure, maintaining gear reliability, and staying calm and collaborative when things inevitably get chaotic. This work has sharpened my ability to translate between creative intent and technical execution with skills that transfer directly into production logistics and operational system design.

International Shipping Coordinator
Mount Juliet, TN
Managed end-to-end outbound international shipping for medical equipment from our Mt. Juliet distribution center, coordinating complex global movements across ocean, air, rail, and over-the-road networks. - Oversaw full export process including ocean containers, time-sensitive air freight, cross-border shipments to Canada and Mexico, and intermodal transportation from warehouse to rail yards to U.S. ports. - Coordinated with major ocean carriers (ONE, OOCL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hamburg Süd) and freight forwarders to secure equipment, optimize routing, and maintain visibility through final overseas delivery. - Handled export documentation, customs coordination, tariff classification (HS codes), and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth border crossings and minimize delays. - Navigated severe supply chain disruptions during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic - container shortages, port congestion, and shifting capacity - by rapidly adjusting routes and carrier plans to keep critical medical equipment moving to international distributors and healthcare providers. This role gave me a front-row view of how global systems behave under extreme pressure and reinforced the importance of adaptability, clear communication, and practical decision-making when conditions change daily.
