The Dissertation Thesis deals with the hybrid MPC control design for a nonlinear chemical reactor. Based on the analysis of nonlinear processes and applied control methods in the chemical and petrochemical industries, an innovative solution to the control problem using a hybrid controller is developed. The controller is based on neural networks to predict and model non-measurable states. A solution to the discrete states in a hybrid prediction model with discrete sub-model switching is proposed. The thesis provides a deep insight into the kinetic modeling of the specific chemical reaction.
