Pete Checchia

Pete Checchia Photography &. Arts Gallery Is an exhibition space located in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia at 2nd & Brown. We show one or two solo exhibitions a year, several group shows and one guest curator show each year.

I specialize in photographing classical music and the performing arts. I also run my own photography studio at 122 Arch St in Old City Philadelphia where I do publicity shot work.

I am one of Carnegie Hall's archival photographers. I cover cancerts in all three halls at Carnegie as well as photographing workshops and masterclasses for The Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall.

I cover concerts, special events and do some publicity photography work.

I photograph a variety of areas for Curtis including; orchestra, opera, publicity, student publicity shots, faculty portraits, tour group photos, lessons, events, rehearsals, concerts etc.

I document all aspects of the Marlboro School of Music's summer festival. I also photograph tour group publicity shots for Musicians from Marlboro. I cover non-summer special events.

Photographing concerts, masterclasses, educational events and banquets. The Marilyn Horne Foundation is now the Marilyn Horne Legacy under the auspices of Carnegie Hall.

I do most of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society's photographic work. This includes covering concerts and special events as well as photographing masterclasses and outreach functions.

I've been photographing the Seminar since the mid eighties along with photographer Allen Cohen. We cover concerts, rehearsals, sectionals, chamber music coaching rehearsals, events, you name it, as well as the annual group photograph on the stage at Carnegie Hall.

Artist member at Inliquid InLiquid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating opportunities and exposure for visual artists while serving as a free, online public hub for arts information in the Philadelphia area. By providing the public with immediate access to view the portfolios and credentials of over 220 artists via the internet; through meaningful partnerships with other cultural organizations; through community-based activities and exhibitions; and through an extensive online body of timely art information, InLiquid brings to light the richness of our region's art activity, broadens audiences, and heightens appreciation for all forms of visual art.

I have shown in several group shows at JOG over the years. I sell select limited edition prints through the gallery. In 2007 I co-curated and exhibited in "3" which was a three artist show with photographer John Schenk and my art duo DeMelas/Checchia.
