Citi Systematic & Electronic Trading Security, plays an important Cyber Security technology role at a global level within the CISO organization at Citi; supporting the needs of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) in providing end-to-end Global Information Security Infrastructure Services, both on and off premise, which focus on securing and maintaining a robust security posture for Citi's high performance low-latency platforms, highly available electronic trading applications, market data dissemination and real-time high frequency transactions in a fragmented and highly regulated ecosystem. These high-performance systems cover a broad range of asset classes and financial instruments which are traded on global markets and trade execution venues.

Within this consultancy role I took ownership of governance rules and operating cycle for the capacity management of global WAN services across all of Thomson Reuters strategic networks. I conducted development and delivery of capacity reporting capabilities to TR internal product groups and stakeholders. I formulated and agreed mutual capacity management practices with vendors and monitored adherence to these practices. I brokered the relationship between WAN vendors and internal stakeholders on all issues concerning WAN capacity. I defined infrastructure capacity forecast reporting capabilities for budget cycle reviews with product line portfolio managers, technical service managers and line of business owners. I established a strategy for consolidating all network capacity/utilisation data from multiple data sources within a common capacity management and forecasting database, resulting in cost savings, budgeting efficiencies and improved network performance.

ICAP is the world’s premier voice and electronic inter-dealer broker, delivering specialist intermediary brokerage services to trading professionals in the wholesale financial markets. The ICAP Architecture and Projects team based in both the UK and US maintained responsibility for all network design projects within ICAP. The numerous projects on which I worked during my tenure were as follows: As a network architect within ICAP I performed a redesign of the ICAP EMEA Internet Perimeter along with a migration of ICAP’s UK continuity facility into Sungard LTC. I contributed to the redesign of the ICAP EUMA client delivery network and carried out design and PoC for a replacement global WAN from a 3rd party Service Provider. I performed performance testing of IP Multicast and Class of Service over the Service Provider network using Spirent SmartBits test equipment As part of a network improvement initiative I consolidated dual OSPF process into a single process within the ICAP UK core network and made improvements to route summarisation and firewall rule base optimisations.

Radianz - 2004 Annual Achievement Award, presented by CEO Howard P. Edelstein in recognition of exceptional performance and contribution Within this operational role I was responsible for network project engineering and implementation of customer network solutions in addition to proof of concept testing of configuration elements for the Radianz Extranet network, a global BGP based network exclusively for financial community. As a feature of the role I had significant direct client interaction and contributed to the ongoing development of new features and services.

At EDS I worked as Senior Network Engineer within a Service Management Centre dedicated to client EBS, providing third level support and operations project and migration activities together with network solution design. The EBS (Electronic Brokerage Systems) SMC was dedicated to the end-to-end management EBS Dealing Resources` networks and systems. EBS Dealing Resources (Now part of the ICAP group) was the world's leading electronic foreign exchange broker with 750 banks using 2,000 workstations to transact average volumes in excess of $90 billion every day.

Responsibility for the design, installation and configuration of Business Continuity network solutions across multiple vendors network products, primarily Cisco within mixed host environments (IBM, Wintel, HP and DEC). The role incorporated initial high-level design and presentation of network solutions to both new and existing clients across a range of vertical's, together with the execution and testing of those solutions. The role also consisted extensive direct customer engagement, combined with rapid problem determination skills and critical analysis. Given the nature of business continuity, the need to get a solution up and running quickly was essential to a customer’s recovery plan.

My role with IBM Global Services initiated following the outsource of ICI Chemicals & Polymers IT function to IBM. The role incorporated project engineering, solution design and the end-to-end delivery of network and systems infrastructure projects.
