About
Penny thinks there's nothing more exciting than reporting live on big breaking news, nor as satisfying as finding a story no one's heard of but can't stop talking about once they've seen it. Her notable career moments include: flying an F-18 Super Hornet, reporting on Vancouver's transformation for the the 2010 Winter Olympics, reporting from the ground as the 2011 Stanley Cup Riot erupted around her on the streets of Vancouver, telling Joe Average about the energy and excitement around the first Siggraph conference outside the US, the minute-by-minute changes following the 2012 Haida Gwaii earthquake and tsunami alert, not to mention seeing kids lose their minds at the AAAS conference featuring Chris Hadfield just nine months before he took command of the ISS and changed how we see and think about space with his social media reportage. Penny spent three years as CTV Vancouver's Chopper 9 reporter but is now firmly planted on terra firma, where she's always digging for new stories.
