Founding Engineer and Uber Tech Lead, Friend Recommendations & Growth Notifications: • Transformed Snapchat’s Friend Recommendation System into an industry-leading Friending product by integrating sophisticated graph-based and embedding-based retrieval techniques alongside advanced deep learning ranking algorithms, significantly enhancing long-term user retention. • Led the creation of a comprehensive Growth Notification system effectively surfacing valuable content users might otherwise miss. This innovation played a pivotal role in driving Snapchat’s growth to 900 million monthly active users (MAU). Uber Tech Lead, Graph Understanding Platform (GUP): • Spearheaded strategic direction and provided technical leadership for the Graph Understanding Platform initiative, shaping core architectural decisions and coordinating a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, ML Engineers, and Research Engineers to advance Snap’s graph understanding capabilities. • Architected and scaled Snap’s Graph DB, Graph ML, and Graph Analytics solutions to efficiently support massive-scale graphs (hundreds of billions of edges), powering diverse product verticals across Snapchat. • Accelerated the adoption of GUP solutions across key product domains—including User Growth, Content, and Safety—through strategic, cross-team collaborations, significantly amplifying overall business impact.

Software Engineer, Camera Platform (Augmented Reality Platform): • Contributed to Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Interactive Engineering components within Snapchat’s Core Game Engine (Lens Core), powering the iconic Snapchat Face and World lenses. • Invented and patented a multi-layer computer vision tracking algorithm (US Patent US-12094063-B2), substantially improving tracking stability and improving user experience.
