Pedro Pinto 🇲🇿🇵🇹

After finishing his studies in Lisbon in banking and finance in 1987, Pedro worked for Lloyds Bank and subsequently ABN AMRO Bank. In 1995 was transferred to Amsterdam where he worked as a Senior Credit Analyst on large scale projects from France and Italy. In 1997 returned to his homeland of Mozambique as Country Manager at CDC Capital Partners, a Private Equity group focused on Emerging Markets. After almost four years in Mozambique, CDC Capital Partners led and won two privatizations (Laurentina Cervejas and Ceta Construções), developed a € 4 million Office and Retail Park and made numerous other investments and one of CDC’s biggest investment, the Mozal aluminum smelter. During Pedro’s tenure at CDC, the group made investments in Mozambique in excess of € 100 million. In 2001 established a financial consultancy firm, Ideal Partners. A JV beteween CDC Capital and Norfund, called Aureos, remained one of the firm’s major clients, and in 2003 the Mozambican fund managed by Aureos won the Group´s awards for the performance of its investment portfolio. In 2002 Ideal Partners established a café/restaurant chain in Lisbon called Magnolia Caffé, which was later sold. In 2011 become Country Manager at African Century Mozambique and in 2012 setup its property arm, African Century Real Estate.
