I was on training for approximately three weeks. I was placed in the microbiology laboratory of the company whereby microbiological tests were carried out on food and water. It was a great experience working with highly professional staff. In this short lapse of time I got a broad overview of inspection, verification, testing and certification services.

Main responsibility: -Coordinate daily benefits processing

* Gained extensive know-how in the daily operational matters of the Company * Ensure the adequate supply of stationery and other administrative material

* Supervise and motivate cashiers and salespersons * Ensure the smoothness of the routine matters

* I was on job training at Ministry of Agro Industry and Food Security (Animal Production Division) --Survey on milk marketing in Mauritius ( for annual report) * Gained proficiency on duck production in Mauritius and on artificial insemination of pigs * Proficiency in the choice and hatching of quality eggs.

I studied biotechnology and my course consisted of the following modules Chemistry fundamentals and biochemistry, Microbiology and genetics, Cell Biology and Biotechnology, Plant and Animal Science, Cell and Tissue Culture, Statistics and Computational Biology, Biochemistry II and Human Physiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechniques, Immunology and Molecular Pathology, Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology, GMOs, Biosafety and Bioethics, Genomics and Proteomics, Plant Biotechnology, Biotechnology for medical and veterinary appplications, bioinformatics as core subjects.
