Paulo Massinha, MD, PhD

Paulo Massinha was born in 1987. He qualified from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra in 2011 and completed his residency program in Coimbra Hospital and Universitary Center in 2017. In 2016 he realized a fellowship training, on Therapeutic Endoscopy, at the Digestive Endoscopy Unit of the Gemelli Hospital, directed by Professor Guido Costamagna, and in 2017 a fellowship in Inflammatory Bowell Disease in Saint Louis Hospital in Paris, directed by Professor Matthieu Allez. He is an author on several scientific journal articles in scientific journals on topics related to the digestive tract, many scientific peer-reviewed manuscripts, and has a number of text book chapters. He is a member of "Portuguese Society of Gastrenterology", a society of, doctors and practitioners committed to the promotion of health as well as improving diagnostic and therapeutic methods for gastrointestinal pathologies by providing a forum and resource for both the research, teaching and industry. Since 2018 he was appointed Attending Physician at Hospital Garcia de Orta E.P.E. In April 2022, he completed is PhD in Therapeutic Endoscopy in the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, under supervision of Professor Guido Costamagna. In 2023, he founded the Lisbon Endoscopy Academy with the objective to promote postgraduate formation in endoscopy field.
