I retired after 23 years with the Omaha Police Department. 19 years as an investigator. 4 in the Gang Suppression Unit & 14 in Narcotics, all working direct Under Cover operations. During my time as a narcotics detective I bought drugs, guns, stolen property, information, identities and co mingled with the criminal element learning from them how they victimize people. During that time frame, I also gave presentations at local high schools educating young adults as to the dangers that the world has to offer. Doing that work for so long, I became an expert in surveillance and counter surveillance and what I call "Unorthodox Surveillance Operations". I also l spent 16 years on the SWAT team where he was the primary breacher for the team and also taught all new team members mechanical breaching. I was also certified in Explosive Breaching, a certified Sniper and was the Sniper Team Leader for 2 years. I was the recipient of many awards / commendations during my time. I was involved in 3 separate Officer Involved Shooting incidents, and several more "Critical Incidents" throughout my career. My wife and I have a small firearms training business where they train mainly civilians on the basics of firearms. However, we do teach higher level courses for those who want to train at those levels. I also give presentations to young adults about being safe in todays dangerous world. The presentation is mainly for young adults (High school Juniors / Seniors) who are soon to be living outside of the home. Or for those young adults who are in their 1st or 2nd year of living outside the family home. The presentation is called S.A.P.S. Situational Awareness and Personal Safety + Decision Making. The idea is to teach young adults how to keep their home safe, keep their selves safe, keep their information private, avoid becoming a victim of rape, date rape and accidental fentanyl overdoses. All of which is on the rise. We basically live in a very dangerous world and I want to help keep young adults' from falling victim to those who would wish to harm them and avoid some of the pitfalls of life. I have also customized the presentation for certain groups of people, such as women interested in sexual assault prevention. I have also customized the presentation for some local college sports teams.
