I worked with the company and oversaw a huge growth period in the seven years I managed the sales and service team as the business has grown considerably and has become one of the premier online gardening company’s in the UK and has now opened it's own showroom. Now running 7 websites, all within the gardening and home furnishings sector with growth year on year (£500,000 turnover in 2008 to just over £5,000,000 current turnover in 2015 (23% growth against 2014)) while I was involved with the running of the business. We were runner up in the Online Retailer of the year award (due to growth and exemplary customer satisfaction levels) at the Garden Business Awards and last year were one of the finalists in the Family Business Awards and Online Retailer of the Year Awards. These were both a great achievement for our team. 

Sport and leisure management covers traditional, functional management and business as applied in organisations within the sport industry covering management principles transferrable to a range of sectors. It is shown that graduates from this course are well equipped to take advantage of opportunities resulting from the continuing expansion of the global sport economy. The course was been designed and developed in collaboration with industry experts including * UK Sport * Youth Sport Trust * the University's Research and Innovation Office * Sheffield Wednesday FC * Sheffield United FC * the Rugby Football Union * the English Football Association * the Amateur Swimming Association * the European Rugby League. It gave me a very comprehensive knowledge of business related to sport which I transferred to my role in online garden retail to enhance the business and help it grow sustainably.
