Paul Atkinson

Paul Atkinson, Managing Partner, Climate Innovation Capital As a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Climate Innovation Capital (“CIC”), I focus on the identification, financial and operational due diligence of investments, fundraising and asset management. Leveraging my long history and experience in operations, I helps portfolio companies develop growth strategies with a focus on value creation and exit planning. Paul is also Managing Partner of Southwest Sun Inc., a diversified investment partnership with interests in the technology, automotive, leisure and real estate industries. He is a founder of Southwest Sun and has been a Managing Partner since 1990. Paul was Executive Chair of Scalar Decisions Inc., one of Canada’s leading Information Technology Companies, focussing on IT security and infrastructure. Scalar was acquired by CDW in February 2019. As an entrepreneur Paul Atkinson has founded and served as CEO of several companies including Casero, AudienceView Ticketing, Solect Technology Group and Southwest Technology Group. Until March 2002, Paul was the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Amdocs Management Limited (DOX:NYSE). He served on the Board of Solect Technology Group in 1993 and joined as CEO in 1994 to direct Solect’s transition from a services-based company to a software solutions organization. On April 6, 2000, Amdocs announced that it had completed the acquisition of Solect, in the largest acquisition of a private technology company in Canadian history. Shortly after the acquisition, Paul was appointed to oversee worldwide marketing for Amdocs. Paul is the past Chair of the Board of the Toronto International Film Festival. He sits on the Advisory Board of the Ivey Business School at Western University and on the Board of Directors of Scalar Decisions (based in Toronto), AudienceView (based in Toronto) and Radialpoint (based in Montreal). Paul is also a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Imperial Capital (based in Toronto) and a member of the Advisory Committee of Rembrandt Venture Partners (based in San Francisco). From 2003 until 2007 Paul was Vice-Chair of the Board of ClubLink Corporation (LNK:TSX), where he served as Chair of the Audit Committee.
