Extensive international travel to research and qualify new tooling suppliers as well as complete manufacturing cells.  Provide leadership and direction in all phases of new product development including Capital Appropriations Requests for Injection Molds, Molding Machines, auxiliary equipment, robotics, and Quality requirements including DFM and the New Product Development Process.  Extensive “hands-on” experience related to Program and Molding Process start-up on site both internationally and domestically at Edgewell locations as well as off-shore third party manufacturers.  Responsible for quotation phase according to global standards, assist Procurement with price negotiations, vendor selection, tool design reviews including approvals, on concurrent multi-million dollar programs.  Qualify and maintain a base of domestic and international mold suppliers to meet, and exceed, ongoing business needs regarding cost, tool quality, lead-times, and overall reliability to support new and existing product development.  Qualify new tooling and automation systems to ensure that demonstrated output meets requirements within established global quality standards and budget guidelines.  Key contributor within the Product Development Team to incorporate multi-shot (2-3 shot) molding systems (Foboha, Boucherie, Gram type spin-stack molds) to gain cost effective molding efficiencies while maintaining a competitive advantage.

Formed Celtic Mold & Design, Inc. to partner with Fortune 500 companies to provide injection molds, product designs, as well as complete turnkey molding systems in the Consumer product and Medical fields.  Created Celtic Mold & Design, Inc. offering companies a full-service location to supply Product Design, Mold Design, Mold Manufacturing, and Injection Molding of short –run through high volume quantities of precision plastic components.  Versed in all phases of precision machining. Hands-on experience includes CNC programing, milling, grinding, EDM processes, heat-treatment and polishing of all tool steels.  Collaborated with Design Engineering and Manufacturing departments of major corporations including Black & Decker, DeWalt, Covidian (US Surgical), General Electric, Bic Corporation, Emerson Electric, and ConAir to design and manufacture multiple components utilizing either engineering or commodity plastic resins.  Researched, purchased and implemented all assets associated with the design, manufacturing and quality control systems that were required to support the ongoing business needs.  Implemented and trained all employees in the use of 2D/3D design software therefore eliminating paper drawings and increasing productivity and reducing construction lead-times.  Responsible for all phases of recruitment, hiring, promotions, pension plans and ongoing operations of a 40+ employee organization.

The design phase included reviewing product designs and approving injection mold designs for global manufacturing in multiple locations. The capital appropriation phase included estimating costs/budgeting associated with tool/mold construction as well as required support equipment and plant space utilization.  Extensive international and domestic travel to qualify mold suppliers, molders and establish multiple international manufacturing locations of specific product lines.  Interface with key product development disciplines including Industrial Design, Marketing, Global Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Finance.
