San Francisco Bay Area
I am a San Francisco-based photographer. I photograph people, events, street life, architecture and cityscapes. Most of my most recent personal photographs have been made using a vintage 1952 Franke & Heidecke Rolleicord III K3B twin lens reflex camera. I tend to photograph with black-and-white film and only use expired film.

Music Coordinator, Great Lakes Folk Festival
The Great Lakes Folk Festival showcases the traditional cultural treasures of the nation's Upper Midwest and a sampling of the best of traditional artists from around the country and the world. The festival encourages cross-cultural understanding of our diverse society through the presentation of musicians, dancers, cooks, storytellers and craftspeople whose traditions are rooted in their communities. As Music Coordinator since the festival's inception, I selected the music for the festival with the help of a local advisory panel, as well as advice of folklorists, ethnomusicologists and other musical experts from around the state and country. I negotiated contracts, scheduled the music stages and served as the primary liaison between the festival and musical artists during the three-day event.

Booking Manager
Lansing Area Folksong Society / Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse
For nearly ten years, I scheduled and booked the Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse concert series and served on the executive board of the parent organization, the Lansing Area Folksong Society. Because the "The Fiddle" is an all-volunteer organization which has no physical home, booking shows also meant deciding upon and contracting venues (in addition to the performers) for approximately thirty concerts a year. In addition to the booking, I would often serve as master of ceremonies at concerts, and help set-up sound and perform other concert-specific tasks. I also was a contributor to the series' publicity efforts, regularly contacting the media and serving as public spokesperson. For most of my tenure, I maintained the organization's website.

Supervisor, Photographic Services
Michigan State University Instructional Media Center
I scheduled and supervised as many as ten full-time employees and five student employees in a full-service photographic unit. Services provided were: film processing (b/w, E-6, C-41); b/w and colour printing; special-effects slide production; slide duplication; copy photography; graphic arts photography; studio and on-location photography. As a working supervisor, I also was responsible for any and all types of lab work and photographic assignments, and was primary customer service representative and quality control agent.
