In this role I was further tasked with revenue, specifically the third party monetization of our network traffic. To this end I instituted a three pronged approach: 1) I repurposed existing product to bring a high margin private labeled CPV solution to all the largest players in the Social Video Seeding space. We powered them in the ability to drive non-incentivized, authenticated human audience views to Youtube etc. 2) I recruited, established, and managed strategic channel sales partnerships in global and emerging markets including Western Europe, CEE, Canada, Australia, and India. and 3) I worked with our product team to build, implement and deploy a programmatic buying solution for both display and video which I then integrated into all of the major SSPs and Exchanges. Inside of 12 months these efforts were yielding 25% of the top line revenue for the company as a whole. I worked with the President and CEO to execute on a stand alone match data product SSP for online publishers (now known as circulate.com.) I helped with the initial market assessment and forecasting, as well as the preliminary strategic conversations with publisher partners and the subsequent refinement of narrative and pitch. I cross-trained existing BD staff, hired additional bodies and replicated the processes that I instituted at Solve Media for success in bringing it to market. Finally I was a consultant and instrumental in the corp dev effort that led to the eventual acquisition of Solve Media by Adiant.

In this position I reported directly to the CRO and was responsible for instituting policy and process for the BD/PubDev team from the ground up. I established personal and team goals, best practices, compensation packages and the assessed and implemention of platforms (RelateIQ, Slack, Asana, Datanyze among others) to provide efficiency, transparency, and ultimately accountability to the team and to the rest of senior management. My responsibilities included the hiring and training of all levels of the BD org from analysts, BD coordinators and BD executives. In a player/coach capacity I led by example and was responsible for strategic deals, consistently outperforming expectations. My team and I succeeded in building a global network of several thousand publishers spanning in excess of 250k individual domains and billions of monthly impressions. In a period of less than 36 months we went from a small unknown startup to one of the largest human verification security providers in the world, and the largest CAPTCHA monetization system in existence.

After VoiceStar was acquired by Marchex I stayed on and focused on the sale of our enterprise SAAS solutions to large online publishers, print and online directories as well as direct response agencies, SEO and SEM entities and lead generators. Our (typically private labeled) software platform provided metrics and and analytics surrounding the result of both online and offline advertising. It also allowed the tracking of offline conversions to online spend to the keyword level. This provided not only clear accountability but also the opportunity to monetize traffic on a pay for call basis. I managed a long, complex, and highly consultative sales cycle to consistently outperform expectations and help bring MCA into a leadership position in the market. I was responsible for a book of business that constituted a large percentage of the total revenue of the company. I provided forecasting and pipeline analysis in order to enable proper revenue predictions. I was also consultative internally with the development and eventual marketing and deployment of new products, assessing market needs and forecasting the associated revenue opportunities.

To this end I was responsible for the creation of (and weekly submittal of) reports to track sales activity, sales forecasting, and individual performance for every member of both the inside and outside sales teams. In this role I assisted in maintaining a clear company focus and sustained, rapid growth in a fast-paced startup environment - leading up to our eventual acquisition.
