I was the Managing Director of the South African branch of the global management consulting firm, Stern Stewart & Co. I lead the company for over two years and ensured the focus was not only on value based strategy, but more importantly, how to use this effectively in practice. My network gained during this experience proved invaluable.

At Merchantec, I was given the opportunity to design my own niche strategic consultancy division. The benefit with this, was working with a strong corporate finance team within Merchantec themselves. The highlight of this period included the development of a Shadow Debt-Rating toolkit, which was implemented at one of SA's leading retailers who were considering the issuance of bonds to raise more effcient debt. My contacts built up within Merchanted will prove invaluable in the persuance of deal origination throughout Africa.

At Deloitte, I have had the pleasure of interacting with many world class professionals. This has expanded my network base both across Africa and globally. I have been exposed to a cross-spectrum of consulting skills, ranging from the fundamentals of business to the ever expanding word of strategy and innovation. My core business skills have expanded whilst my ability to implement succesful large-scale projects has been crafted over the years with the correct peers, knowledge sharing and methodologies. I have had the pleasure of leading large scale tunraround projects, managing back-office share service transformation projects, whilst still growing my own service offerrings, including Strategic Finance (re-structruing of balance sheets, shareholder value optimisation etc.) and Strategic Deal Origination.

After aiming to complete my CA, I decided to change this course after my 3rd years to focus more on business, including both Finance and Economics. I ultimtely completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (which has proved invaluable), with additional majors in both Economics and Finance.
