Truck Technician. Service and repair for a fleet of garbage/recycling co-collection trucks, and front end bin loading trucks.

Shift coordinator. Assign work to mechanics and apprentices. Bill customers,cash and account for services rendered. Complete administrative paperwork for fleet customers, eg. M.T.O. and F.M.V.S.S.(U.S.) pertaining to quarterly and annual safety inspections, as well as any general repairs required. Manage shop parts dept inventory. Order parts required for shop repairs. Manage day to day operations for fleet customers. Work in shop as a mechanic, service and repair tractors, and trailers, all makes.

Parts inside sales. Provide parts for internal and external customers. Use Cat Service information System to find part numbers, repair information, and machine specifications. Order and Expedite non-stock items for shop and customers. Manage inventory, receiving and putting away stock orders. Execute inventory cycle-counts. Inspect, assign credit and ship all cores. Communicate with customers regarding any core discrepancies. Work with customers in harmonizing core management systems with Caterpillar practices. Build and repair caterpillar hydraulic hose assemblies. Provide on-call 24 hour service.

In school training for Truck and Coach Technician apprentices. Theoretical training on all truck systems. Engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, suspension, steering, and brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and electronics systems and principles. Drivetrains, air conditioning. Computer diagnostic systems, and techniques.
