Manager In this position, in addition to the role performed as a senior associate, I manage engagements, report directly to the Partners and serve as an effective liaison with various clients. I set targets, agree fees, identify potential business opportunities with existing and prospective clients and complete all engagements in line with the relevant industry standards, ensuring that client deliverables are met and delivered on time, in the correct format and in accordance with professional standards. I define project requirements, manage projects and oversee project financials. In addition I review the efficiency and suitability of client business systems and operations and recommending value-adding enhancements as required. I also review client financial records and ensure the reliability of the data and information gathered as well as compliance with pertinent regulations.

As a Senior Associate I coordinated IFRS reviews on engagements and coached team members on topics such as asset impairment, loan amortization and asset retirement obligation. I supported my superiors as required and motivated the less experienced team members to deliver their work efficiently and effectively. My responsibilities included the effective communication of audit findings and observations to key client staff and the strengthening of business relationships. In addition I served as an Engagement Manager and Team Manager on medium and large-sized engagements, chaired several Business Unit (BU) meetings and supported BU objectives relating to billings, collections and quality reviews. My key achievements included successful leadership of several assurance engagements, effective fee negotiations with the client, and recognition by both the firm and the client for outstanding engagement delivery. In addition I provided value-adding recommendations on key accounting issues that were included in the final reports issued to clients. I also served on the team that compiled the combined consolidated IFRS financial statement for a client and developed reporting templates for use by team members and managers on the engagement, which were ultimately used by the client.
