• Facilitated the Independent Inventor Program for unaffiliated schools, teachers, and students nationwide. • Managed the production of an innovative educational platform scheduled to launch in Fall 2025.

This project, created, produced, and delivered by the core team of Jennifer Mead, Dr. Arlyne Simon, Betsy Rabel, Dr. Carliss Miller, Roxane Scrima, and myself, was funded through an Invention Education Action Grant awarded by The Lemelson Foundation. Our inaugural class consisted of teachers and educators from 14 different United States and Dominica. We provided a series of professional development workshops designed to equip K-5th grade educators and education leaders to bring invention education into their classrooms through basing it on children’s literature. The InventionLIT educators each created at least one invention education lesson and contributed it to the InventionLIT repository, an online resource of invention lessons paired to a children’s book. Each educator then recreated the InventionLIT workshop with their own recruited community of teachers and taught them how to create InventionLIT lessons. At present, there are 100 children’s books paired with InventionLIT lessons in the online open source repository. You can access the repository at inventionlit.org

pFactory, Inc. inspires youth led community change through camps and afterschool programs where participants learn leadership, communication, and video skills and weave these skills together to create their own community service projects and make a documentary video of their work. The Beloved Quilts Project is sponsored by pFactory, Inc. The Beloved Quilts Project's original goal was to to make and distribute 100 hand-made quilts to local individuals displaced by violence or poverty. Each of these quilts has the message "BELOVED" emblazoned across it as the message to each of the recipients. To date nearly 200 quilts have been distributed and $4,500 has been raised & donated to 3 local homelessness agencies.

• Led bi-weekly meetings with the science student-teacher cohort during their pre-practicums and practicums.Supported their development as teachers through facilitating reflection, inquiry, and collaboration. • Coached two student teachers on a bi-weekly basis in their public school classrooms. This involved observing, recording, debriefing, and guiding the student teachers in their reflection, inquiry, and planning. • Collaborated with mentor teachers, director of the program, and student teachers to provide the best possible supports for our student teachers. • Administered both pre-established and self-created assignments to the science student-teacher cohort to foster their learning of teaching, and to prepare them for taking the reigns during their practicum. • Assisted and participated in a weekly Teaching Methods in Science class for our student teachers.

• Taught a full-credit year-long compressed curriculum biology course in 6 weeks covering: Science of Life, Scientific Method, Cell Biology, basic Biochemistry, Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration, Mitosis and Meiosis, DNA and RNA, Genetics, Evolution, Ecology, and Population Genetics. • Conducted daily hands-on laboratories, investigations, lectures, and class discussions. • Facilitated students in the completion of six-week-long inquiry-based Ecology projects. • In second year, planned and administrated weekly field trips for entire biology department, which included two other teacher's classes. As a summer based position, I have a standing invitation to return based on my availability.

• Developed and produced educational and marketing videos for interactive marketing firm. • Advised clients and web development team on educational content, and youth oriented websites. • Planned, organized, and managed video shoots, including managing personnel and human subjects for each project.

• Established and taught curriculum for 1st and 2nd grade Science. • Applied emergent learning principles to Core Knowledge structure to create curriculum. • Incorporated Science-curriculum-based reading comprehension to support reading test-score improvement. • Employed Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences and hands-on learning to meet divergent student capacities.
