Smart Tannery Consulting is the brand that represents the consulting activity I’ve carried out since 2019. It operates under the legal entity Paolo Fuselli Leather and Tannery Consultant S.A.S., of which I am Founder and CEO. I help tanneries, brands, and design professionals unlock the full potential of leather through consulting, training, and product development. My work focuses on: • Supporting tanneries in creating market-relevant articles, combining fashion-oriented aesthetics with industrial consistency • Guiding brands and designers in the industrialization of leather — from feasibility assessment to production readiness, ensuring that creative concepts can be transformed into scalable, manufacturable products • Collaborating with sourcing and quality teams to evaluate suppliers, improve sustainability and performance standards, and guarantee cost-effective and consistent results • Delivering training programs that build practical knowledge of leather, tanning processes, and their application in fashion, leather goods, footwear, and high-end interiors My expertise covers the transformation of raw hides, from wet-blue to finished leathers, with a strong focus on quality, industrialization, and sustainability enhancement. I work across both fashion and interior applications, helping clients develop materials that combine technical quality, sustainability, and creative impact.

Worked for leading Italian tanning groups - Gruppo Peretti, Faeda S.p.A., Rino Mastrotto Group - in roles covering product development and international sales. Developed high-quality leather articles aligned with fashion brand standards, ensuring performance, aesthetics, and production feasibility.

Began my professional journey working in different sectors, including an early experience as an assistant in a leather trading office and later in the insurance industry. These roles helped me develop organizational, commercial, and interpersonal skills that later proved valuable in my transition to the leather industry.

ESG-focused master covering environmental auditing, social accountability, and sustainability reporting. Insights from the course now guide my search for sustainable materials and responsible production processes in the leather industry.
