VP, Strategic Partnerships @ Eyam Health
About
I’m a life sciences leader (PhD Microbiology & Immunology, EMBA) who helps biotech startups and scaling companies translate great science into meaningful impact through strategic partnerships, ecosystem-building, and business development. My work sits at the intersection of immunology, infectious and autoimmune disease research, commercialization strategy, and community engagement. In my academic career, I discovered protective immune mechanisms following viral infection in preclinical autoimmune models, and later identified infant–adult differences in immune cell genetics that may help explain varied resistance to HIV. That scientific foundation continues to inform how I evaluate technology fit, translational risk, and partnership value in industry. Beyond the lab, I’ve taught and mentored students across Canadian and US institutions; led cross-disciplinary biotech and biomedical collaborations in British Columbia; and built mission-driven communities. I founded the Whole Human Foundation and lead the Whole Human Summit conference series to advance inclusive, purpose-driven innovation in science. I was an active Coralus (SheEO) Activator for years, supporting women-led ventures globally. My nonprofit and social impact work includes board service with SCWIST (grants, fundraising, strategy) and partnership-driven projects elevating Indigenous and immigrant women’s voices through film and storytelling. I’m energized by teams building solutions in infectious disease, immune health, and data-enabled biotech platforms—and by founders who want trusted, values-aligned partnership strategy. Let’s connect if you’re growing a biotech startup and need support navigating collaborations, alliances, or go-to-market partnerships.

Coralus (formerly SheEO) is a global community of radically generous women transforming the way we fund, support and celebrate women-led Ventures working on the World’s To Do List. Since launching in 2015, 4000 women Activators in four countries have collectively loaned out $4M to support 53 women-led Ventures. Our goal is to reach 1M women Activators and a $1B perpetual fund which will support 10,000 women-led Ventures each year for generations to come. Are you IN?

⇢Proficient in online tools like Zoom and Google Meets for virtual teaching ⇢Proficient in cloud-based classroom management platforms like Moodle, Google Classroom, and Brightspace Using active learning strategies, I teach undergraduate students in the Citizen Science Program how to access, assess and contextualize scientific information as well as the history and tools of the trade in scientific communications. For every course (2017, 2019, 2021 (virtual)) I have created lesson plans, a course syllabus and course content to complement provided materials and curriculum. Subject matter for the core curriculum was Infectious Diseases in 2017 and Water Science for 2019 and 2021. The goal of the Citizen Science program at Bard College is to provide students with opportunities to develop their personal science literacy through hands-on, real-world coursework and projects. We ask: What does it mean to be scientifically literate? What is the role of citizens when it comes to weighing in on important scientific issues? How can citizens find the scientific information they need in order to meet the challenges they face in their lives and respond to the scientific issues of their day? What are the skills we all need in order to adequately and thoroughly interpret scientific claims, and how can we be sure that the conduct, analysis, and interpretation of science are not unduly influenced by political or other potentially distorting factors?
