First Engineering Manager to develop a comprehensive 10 Year Spend Plan which identified O&M and Capital projects to be vetted for approval.

As Maintenance Manager handled all personnel issues for 188+ employees. Conducted interviews and made selections for department vacancies; responded to grievances and complaints; and rewarded excellent performance and coached and disciplined poor performance. Worked closely with several poor performers and was able to coach and mentor them into being excellent performers. Well versed in the various union guidance documents. Set up Work Week Management organization. Supervised the plant Maintenance Coordinators (Planners). Trained and mentored new Maintenance Superintendents, Supervisors, and Coordinators to ensure they successfully completed required training programs. SuperUser for Pasta and EMPAC system which was the plant scheduling and enterprise maintenance software solution. Currently utilizing Maximo software.

Reviewed several contractor business proposals and made recommendations regarding contractor selection. Served as Technical Manager for approximately seventy-five percent of contractors supplying services to a large coal fired power plant. Six years experience directing work of and supervising Maintenance Coordinating Staff. Developed work packages and schedules for as many as six or eight crews during manpower shortages in the Maintenance department. As needed, held clearances for work to be performed. Served as Shift Outage Manager and Maintenance Outage Manager in the Outage Control Center during annual outage, several maintenance and/or forced outages, and during emergency situations. Handled complex situations including case management for injured employees, resource allocations, and outage reporting requirements and associated communications, while ensuring outage schedules were met.

Worked directly with Project Management and Capital Project Engineers to ensure identified work met requirements by Fixed Assets Accounting for capitalization. Ensured accounts were set up properly and tracked according. Assisted with the development of plant outage O& M budget. Prepared Outage Scope Change Requests (OSCR) as needed to ensure plant outage schedules were coordinated with corporate staff. Provided support for Outage and Capital Project Deviations Process, Maintained the Master Outage Spreadsheet, Project Authorizations Process, and Project Closure Process. Performed all aspects of the business of running a coal fired power plant.
