Leading Legal Affairs and Compliances of Rehlko Energy Group in the region pursuant to identification and selection by the majority investment partner, Platinum Equity. Successfully led transition of the Company in the region pursuant to separation from erstwhile Parent, Kohler Group to ensure zero disruption in Legal function and established processes such as smooth Compliance Management, Contract Management System, Litigation Management and Corporate Governance matters. Swiftly developed a Team of proficient in-house and external resources in a record time of Four (4) months in India, Singapore, China, Hongkong, South Korea and Japan to provide cost-effective and proactive legal support in the region, sometimes even securing a cost-savings of even 50% while ensuring the quality of the legal advice. Led to an expeditious closure by settling the matter out of court in an incident arising due to a Force Majeure event by providing prompt, and proficient Legal support to the Company. Provided proactive Legal support to the Company in setting up Two (2) new Offices in APAC region in a record time span by negotiating and closing on a marathon basis, thereby enabling faster and smoother transition from the erstwhile Parent Company. Advised businesses across the APAC region (India, Singapore, China, Hongkong and Japan) on commercial, IPR, and labor and employment law matters, amongst others. Recently secured a favorable court order in a defamation case by effective management of the matter. Managed external counsels across India and internal support teams at Corporate Office and Five (5) Factories across the length and breadth of the country.

Proactively supported in successful closure of multiple Projects by the Company across the region, such as setting up of Kohler Experience Centers, RDCs, Kohler Studios, E-Commerce Channel, and many Greenfield, and Brownfield Projects. Successfully drafted and executed Three (3) Business Transfer Agreements in connection with the transfer of a Business Division from one Group Company to another Group Company together with advice on related issues such as Stamp Duty implications in multiple States of the Country. Ensured Compliance with applicable laws in cases of development of Tools by foreign vendors, disposal of scraps/ residuals by factories, employment laws (both contract workers and employees), etc.

Responsible for Contract Management and Negotiation for Kohler businesses operating in South Asia, Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Provided prompt Legal support in resolving a non-compliance with FEMA in relation to development of Tools by foreign vendors. Ensured 100% compliance with applicable provisions of OFAC Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Boycott Laws, Anti-boycott Laws, Competitor Contacts, Confidential Information Exchanges, etc. Entrusted to provide Legal Advice and Dispute Resolution pertaining to general Corporate and Commercial matters such as disputes with Channel Partners, Customers and Vendors, followed by signing Amended Contracts and/ or Settlement Agreements. • Advised on Company’s HR and Legal Policies from legal perspective, SOPs for Legal function and supported the Company as a stakeholder in overcoming Change Resistance arising out of newly introduced changes/ Tools and ensuring implementation of the same. • Independently managed a critical Arbitration matter having a high-value exposure running into hundreds of Crores and implemented learnings from the same for an improved and effective safeguard of the Company’s interests in the future. • Imparted Legal Trainings on several topics to mitigate various risk exposures to the Company. Provided specialized legal support independently to projects of Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicle Company, Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. and Ssangyong Motor Company (a South Korea based automobile manufacturer). Advised on resolution of disputes with dealers without approaching courts and closed the same within a record time. Provided legal support for expansion of the eletric vehicle business in the UK. Due diligence of land/ premises and drafting, review and negotiation of lease deeds and leave and license agreements.

Led the Automotive sector to prepare and implement Statutory Compliance Checklists. Resulted in significant savings in man-hours and costs (in terms of penalties and interests), and fixed accountability of task managers to ensure 100% compliance with Corporate Governance norms. Provided specialized legal support independently to projects of Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicle Company, Mahindra Vehicle Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. and Ssangyong Motor Company (a South Korea based automobile manufacturer). Managed legal requirements for de-merger of a 100% Indian subsidiary, and its subsequent merger into the Automotive Business of parent Company. Managed acquisition of remaining shares of a majority-owned EU-based Joint Venture from the promoters. Advised on resolution of disputes with 19 dealers without approaching courts and closed the same within a record time of ~ four years.

Handled independently a critical Arbitration case having an exposure of $10M. Negotiated and closed critical Project-based contract documents worth about $1M pertaining to coal offtake from a coal mine jointly allotted to the Company along with a large player for a period of 99 yrs. Handled filing and defense of separate Writ Petitions in High Courts of respective States demanding withdrawal of Entry Tax, Electricity Duty and Renewable Energy Obligations.

Created and implemented a standard operating process (SOP) for drafting, review, negotiation and execution of a Non Disclosure Agreement for Asia Pacific region. Supported key growth projects of automotive team, railways and healthcare segment. Awarded Excellence Award for cross-functional team work on an excise litigation leading to saving of potential liability by $2.85M. Awarded for outstanding commitment, dedication and excellent job for supporting transition from GE Plastics to SABIC Innovative Plastics. Awarded for saving time/team management along with a detailed due diligence and expeditious closure of contract documentation for setting up three new sales offices, two new warehouses and closing two sales offices. Awarded to ensure 100% statutory compliance pan-India. Awarded for contribution to business model. Digitized a tracking system at no additional cost to the business in record number of days. Savings of 120 man hours annually and improved and sustained accountability. Awarded for supporting Company in recovering 'lost money' in matters pertaining to dishonor of cheques without any visits or spending additional resources.
