Nursing Philosophy & Mission My nursing philosophy is rooted in compassionate, evidence-based care and a deep respect for the vulnerability of patients and families during critical moments. I believe that presence, empathy, and attention to detail are as essential as clinical skill, especially when caring for neonates and supporting families navigating uncertainty. I am committed to family-centered care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advocacy for equitable access to resources that improve outcomes for the smallest and most fragile patients. Whether at the bedside or within the community, I strive to ensure every interaction reflects dignity, safety, and intentional care. Career Goals & Objectives I am a soon-to-be Bachelor’s-prepared nursing student and 2026 NICU Nursing Residency candidate with a strong academic foundation and hands-on exposure to neonatal care, lactation support, and human milk banking. My career goal is to practice as a NICU nurse in a high-acuity setting where I can continue to grow clinically while contributing meaningfully to patient outcomes and family support. Through NICU shadowing at Texas Children’s Hospital, involvement with breastfeeding coalitions, and experience with Mother’s Milk Bank of North Texas, I have developed a clear passion for neonatal health across the continuum of care. I am eager to further refine my critical thinking, technical skills, and leadership abilities through a NICU residency and long-term professional development within neonatal nursing.

As a nursing student, I gained diverse hands-on clinical experience across multiple specialties, building a strong foundation in patient care, communication, and critical thinking. My training included rotations in medical-surgical, mental health, pediatrics, obstetrics, geriatrics, and critical care, where I had the opportunity to work with patients across the lifespan and in a variety of healthcare settings. During my clinicals, I assisted in performing head-to-toe assessments, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, documenting in electronic health records, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care. I also practiced patient and family education, therapeutic communication, and prioritized care for individuals with both acute and chronic health conditions. I completed rotations at leading healthcare organizations including Baylor Scott & White Medical Center (Temple and College Station) and Houston Methodist West (Katy), which provided exposure to both large academic medical centers and community-focused hospital environments. These experiences strengthened my ability to adapt to different patient populations, unit workflows, and care delivery models. Through this training, I developed skills in patient-centered care, time management, teamwork, and clinical decision-making. I am passionate about continuing to grow as a nurse and contributing to safe, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare.
