Owen LaFreniere

Owen serves as the General Counsel of Timberline Real Estate Partners, leading the firm’s legal and compliance functions and managing legal risks across all of Timberline’s investments and platforms. Prior to joining Timberline, Owen was a Vice President at Amherst Holdings, LLC, an asset management company with more than $15 billion AUM, where he was responsible for equity transactions, including joint ventures with the company’s key investors. Prior to his time at Amherst, Owen spent more than 15 years with several prominent New York law firms, working in all areas of commercial real estate, including joint venture and co-investment partnerships, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, financings on behalf of both borrowers and lenders (including mortgage and mezzanine financing), construction and development projects, and private equity M&A, with significant experience in commercial leasing, litigation and general corporate finance.
