•Participating in root cause analysis using ICAM and SCAT investigation tools and contributing to the risk management process by ensuring that analytical data is directly applied to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies. •Conducting rigorous reviews of current procedures to ensure their alignment with FQM's safety standards, verifying that they meet all applicable national and international legal and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance. •Identifying and performing gap analyses between current safety practices and required standards, and supporting or leading the implementation of procedural changes identified during these analyses. •Analyze trends from aggregated data of leading indicators (safety audits & inspections, VFLs, Planned Task observations, Stop Think Coaches) and lagging indicators (incident reports, near misses) to establish a foundation for data-driven decisions. •Ensuring timely closures of all actions raised by enforcement bodies such as MSD and through Reactive and Active monitoring methods, with a focus on reducing the Mean Time To close metric (MTTC). •Creating clear, concise, and relevant reports through dashboards and presentations tailored for various stakeholders such as the Process and Engineering leadership teams, ensuring precise communication of results.

• Promoting occupational health and safety within FQM Trident in line with the set Health & Safety targets • Conducting routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and implementing critical controls to mitigate risks • Ensuring PPE compliance, such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets in workplaces • Facilitating the closure of reported hazards and other safety concerns within the workplace • Ensuring compliance and safety by systematically tracking statutory logbooks and first aid canisters, then report discrepancies or concerns to management for prompt action. • Assisting with incident investigations in collaboration with area leads highlighting possible causes and following up on recommended remedial actions • Advocate for the implementation of standardized documentation including JSAs, PTWs and SOPs/SWIs across all FQM Trident’s mining activities • Facilitating and tracking compliance training sessions for workers on health and safety practices and legislation • Assisting in coordination of emergency preparedness, mine rescues, firefighting and first aid crews, if/where required • Facilitating VFLs, PTOs and STCs within the THINK model of FQM Trident’s safety management system

• Responsible for implementing and monitoring ME Longteng's Environmental Health and Safety Management System and providing technical expertise and advice to Management on fulfilling legal requirements and other requirements relevant to the company's operations • Carrying out investigations into incidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and subsequently recommend and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence • Maintain all safety training, health and medical records accordingly to ensure compliance • Developing and ensuring compliance hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, illumination surveys and effluent monitoring • Develop occupational health and safety systems, including policies, procedures and safety manuals in line with ISO 45001 of 2018 • Inspect workplaces and equipment, to identify hazards and risks and ensure they meet safety and health regulations • Report accidents, injuries, and disease breakouts within the workplace to Workers Compensation Control Board within the stipulated time • Ensuring that new-employees and visitors undergo health and safety inductions and orientations to ensure they comply with organizational procedures and safety standards • Ensure that personnel are aware of and comply with all legislation relating to duty of care, workplace activities and the use of plant, equipment and substances

• Managing an in-house nursery of seedlings to be planted and donated to various schools and communities as part of Corporate Social Responsibility • Carry out environmental incident investigations and provide corrective actions and preventive actions and ensure systematic tracking of actions • Develop and implement environmental awareness activities to ascertain employee training needs • Conduct bi-annual Management Review presentations of UMCIL's environmental legal register and giving appropriate feedback to the HODs • Ensuring point source waste segregation of all industrial waste and general waste • Compile statutory reports such as but not limited to bi-annual returns, EPBs and any other reports required by the regulatory Agency • Systematic environmental monitoring activities for air, water, and Noise • Updating of the Iron Ore Mine and Steel Plant Monitoring database for water and air quality

Worked as an Environmental Officer under the Environmental Department for six months and got exposed to diverse sections of the iron ore mining operations with a focus on environmental management and general occupational health and safety aspects of the operations.
