I&C engineer at TRACTEBEL BE. Currently at PALLAS reactor NL

About

In 2015, I joined the PALLAS Foundation, which is responsible for the development of a new research reactor for medical and scientific applications in the Netherlands. I became involved at an early stage of the project, during the technical feasibility phase of this nuclear newbuild, serving as part of the Owner’s Engineer team from Tractebel. I currently hold the position of Senior Lead I&C Systems Engineer within the PALLAS organization. Having worked in the Netherlands for the past 11 years, I have acquired in-depth knowledge of the Dutch regulatory framework and the requirements of the Dutch Nuclear Authority, including the Dutch Safety Requirements (DSR) and their application and compliance. With more than 35 years of experience across multiple organizations in the nuclear sector, I have developed a strong safety culture, a commitment to high-quality work, and deep technical expertise in nuclear reactor design and I&C systems. I have also gained extensive experience in nuclear reactor licensing processes and regulatory requirements. Throughout my career, I have applied my managerial skills across various projects, all of which were successfully delivered on schedule and within budget. I hold a PhD in Experimental Physics, awarded for the development of radiation-resistant particle detectors for the CERN Large Hadron Collider, as well as an MSc in Engineering Physics with a specialization in Nuclear Reactors.
