🎙️ “This is Otávio, from Sales!” Since I was a child, radio has always been my companion. The voices coming from the speakers fascinated me—and that’s where my passion for communication was born. As soon as I had the chance, I enrolled in a radio broadcasting course. That passion kept growing and led me to pursue a degree in Radio, TV, and Digital Media at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. I moved to a new city, dove into the largest metropolis in Brazil with nothing but courage and the desire to be part of this world. In my very first semester, I landed an internship at the Bandeirantes Communication Group, on the Affiliation and Expansion team. There, I got to experience the inner workings of a major TV network—from prospecting new affiliate stations to witnessing iconic productions like Faustão na Band. It was also where I had my first encounter with TV sales. I’ll admit—I used to shy away from anything "commercial," thinking it wasn’t for me. But I soon realized how wrong I was. I learned that sales is really about connecting brands to stories, people to experiences, and businesses to purpose. Later, I worked in pay TV, distributing channels to operators, handling SVAs and metadata. But my heart never left broadcast TV and radio. That’s why today, I’m proud to be part of the sales team of a regional broadcaster, one that speaks the language and soul of Brazil’s countryside. Because anyone who’s worked with affiliates knows: there’s nothing like the power of a regional team that truly believes in what it does. If the little Otávio who spent hours listening to the radio could see the Otávio I’ve become, he’d be proud. And the Otávio of the future? He’s just getting started. One final thought I’ll leave you with: You don’t hate sales—maybe you just haven’t found something you love enough to sell with passion.
