I have 20 years of experience in design, seismic design, construction, evaluation, and retrofit of existing buildings, as well as structural health monitoring and forensic engineering of building structures and infrastructure of bridges, electrical substations, and hydro electrical projects in the Americas. I have also extensive experience with structural dynamics and advanced finite element modeling used in the seismic design of buildings and infrastructure. My expertise includes technical supervision during the construction of different types of buildings and the forensic investigation of infrastructure and building losses. I hold a Master in Applied Mechanics (with an emphasis in structural engineering and seismic vulnerability of reinforced concrete buildings). I have also specialized in Seismic Engineering from EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia. I also hold a Master in Disaster Risk Management from Alfonso X El Sabio University in Madrid. I joined EFI Global Colombia to provide independent risk and damage assessment in the property loss and risk engineering services for Colombia and throughout Latin America.
