Renewable Energy Systems Trainee @ WBS TRAINING AG

About

Mechanical engineer focused on thermal system simulation and sustainable energy supply. The core of my work so far has been modeling heat pump systems, integration into district heating networks, and dynamic simulation of complex energy systems. Selected projects: At the University of Duisburg-Essen I modeled a geothermal hybrid absorption-compression heat pump using a mixture of ammonia and water in Aspen Plus, and developed integration strategies for the Duisburg district heating network with a projected 15 percent improvement in coefficient of performance. At EUtech Scientific Engineering in Aachen I built and validated a dynamic MATLAB and Simulink model for a hybrid system with hydrogen and fuel cell, reducing simulation error by 25 percent. I have also authored more than 80 technical articles for the EnArgus energy lexicon on heat pumps, fuel cells, and renewable energy. Currently, from March to September 2026, I am completing a full-time training program "Project Manager for Renewable Energy Systems with Energy Consulting under BAFA and KfW" with WBS Training AG. The program covers photovoltaics, solar thermal, geothermal, biogas, CHP, wind energy, residential energy consulting, planning law, and GIS. Available from October 2026 for full-time positions in energy systems engineering, plant design, and project engineering across Germany. Open to relocation. Languages: Arabic (native), German (fluent), English (fluent).

Research and technical work at the Chair of Energy Technology, spanning thermal system simulation, technical documentation, and knowledge infrastructure development. Thermal System Simulation (September 2023 to August 2024): Modeled a geothermal hybrid absorption-compression heat pump using a mixture of ammonia and water in Aspen Plus, for integration into the Duisburg district heating network at a 55 degree Celsius source temperature. Developed integration strategies with a projected 15 percent improvement in coefficient of performance over conventional heat pump solutions through parametric thermodynamic analysis. Contributed to bachelor's thesis research on comparative thermodynamic simulation of heat pump systems with ammonia and ammonia-water mixtures. Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management (October 2024 to present): Authored 80+ technical articles for the EnArgus energy lexicon on heat pump engineering, hydrogen technology, fuel cell systems, and renewable energy, translating complex research into clear and structured content for academic and industry audiences. Built and led the development of an internal knowledge base that significantly improved team access to technical information and reduced time spent searching for reference material across ongoing research projects. Supported research communication for the energy technology department, contributing to its visibility in topics aligned with Germany's Energiewende. Skills: Aspen Plus, Heat Pump Technology, Thermodynamics, Technical Writing, Renewable Energy

Specialized in thermal systems and energy engineering, with a final thesis focused on comparative heat pump simulation. Thesis: Comparative Thermodynamic Analysis of Heat Pump Systems Using Ammonia and Ammonia-Water Mixtures Built full thermodynamic cycle models for both refrigerant configurations using Aspen HYSYS and MATLAB. Analyzed COP, system efficiency, environmental impact (GWP, ODP), and economic viability across multiple operating scenarios. Findings provided direct guidance for low-carbon heating system design and refrigerant selection.
